Vertical Centrifuge Drive Configuration

As illustrated, the horizontal input drive bearing drives the helical gear set through a bevel gear set. The bevel gear set then drives the helical gear set by actuating a vertical intermediate shaft, which subsequently drives the central shaft and hollow shaft. These two shafts power the scraper drum and screen basket, respectively. All gears, shafts, and bearings are robust and wear-resistant, ensuring years of reliable operation.

The operation of the scraper screw and screen basket in the same direction but at different speeds maximizes the lifespan of the screen basket, scraper, and screen basket support.

Wear-Resistant Linings

  1. 12mm thick aluminum ceramic lining on the inner wall of the scraper base.

  2. Production wear ring with a 25mm thick aluminum ceramic lining, 100mm wide, attached to the inner wall.

  3. 12mm thick aluminum ceramic lining attached to both ends of the inner wall of the upper cover.

  4. Wear-resistant mud coating applied to the water outlet channel and outlet.

  5. The scraper rotor is connected to the wear layer and ceramic lining on the scraper blade.

Differences Between Vertical and Horizontal Centrifuges

  1. Structure: The drum of a vertical centrifuge is positioned vertically, while the drum of a horizontal centrifuge is horizontal. Consequently, the drum axis of a vertical centrifuge is perpendicular to the ground, whereas the drum axis of a horizontal centrifuge is parallel to the ground.

  2. Appearance: Due to the different drum orientations, vertical centrifuges generally have a taller overall height, occupying more vertical space. In contrast, horizontal centrifuges are shorter and longer, occupying more horizontal space.

  3. Drum Structure: The drum of a vertical centrifuge is typically cylindrical, with materials depositing on the cylindrical wall during separation. Conversely, the drum of a horizontal centrifuge is often disc-shaped or bowl-shaped, with materials depositing on the discs or bowls during separation.

  4. Material Loading: Materials are typically loaded into the drum of a vertical centrifuge from the top, and the separation process occurs inside the drum. In contrast, materials are loaded into the drum of a horizontal centrifuge from the side or front, and the separation process also occurs inside the drum.

  5. Separation Effectiveness: Due to the vertical orientation of the drum, vertical centrifuges generally offer better separation of finer particles or suspended liquids. Horizontal centrifuges, with their horizontally placed drums, excel at separating larger particles or high-concentration suspensions.
